Small portable gas stove windshield.

These small portable gas stoves have been on the market for many years, I brought our first one around 15 years ago. I have three now, they are cheap, usually less than $20, the small gas throw-away bottles hold 220g of gas and they last around two days, they cost a little more than a dollar each.

Early in 2015 these stoves were pulled off shelves around the country, while its difficult to ascertain exactly why their sales were banned I understand that a gentleman in SA was badly burnt when one exploded.

I further understand that in that case the stove had not been completly turned off but the flame had extinguished and in time an accumulation of gas exploded by an ignition source.

As mentioned, we have had a number of these stoves for many years, millions have been sold, we see many of them in use, we have never had any issue with them nor am I aware of anyone, other then that poor SA gentleman, who has.

I am happy to report that these stoves are now becoming available again and as far as I can determine the design of them is unchanged.

And now, the reason for this posting;

These small stoves do not produce a lot of heat and their heat can be easily deflected away from the cooking vessel with the smallest amount of wind.....I devised a way to make them operate much more efficiently...click on the photo below for a slide show..
