Kilcoy
Kilcoy is a small farming town and part of the Somerset Region local government area in South East Queensland, notable for being the site of a number of massacres of Aborigines by white settlers. Kilcoy is also known for various 'Yowie' sightings over the years...fortuantly the only Yowie we saw was a statue.

Kilcoy township sits on the D'aguilar Highway, close by is the massive Somerset Dam, major water supply for SE Qld. The town is approx 100km north of Brisbane.
ANZAC Memorial park is available for short term campers, just a short walk from town it has toilets with free showers. At one time it also had free 240v power but continued abuse saw the council pull the plug. Also, oddly there used to be a dump point here but the council relocated it to the showgrounds, a number of km away.
The Yowie is said to be a really ugly animal/person. Click on the link below to move on...quickly....lol
