Scarborough and the Redcliffe Peninisula
Our final camp for this trip is Scarborough on the Redcliffe Peninsula, less than one hours drive from our home...as mentioned earlier, we were in no hurry to get home. Click on the photo below to see photos of our visit to Scarborough and Redcliffe.
Scarborough Holiday Village was our last stop on this trip, we stayed here for a week. Its a nice park situated on the northern end of the peninsula, the park is surrounded by waterside parklands and picnic areas.
Scarborough Holiday Village is unusual in that they have actually given some thought to the site layout...each site is a drive-thru and laid out sensibly with each van location staggered, it allows for some privacy. There is a dump point here too.
The photo above is of a very historic site, it is where white man first stepped onto the Peninsula in 1824, a settlement grew and Red Cliffs, as it was first known was destined to become Queensland's capital, the lack of reliable water killed this idea however and they up and moved up the Brisbane river to where Brisbane now sits. And so ends our Sydney September trip...to see some misc' photos, click the link below.
